Tyrel Dulvarie

Stephanie Lake Company Works: VISTA, The Chronicles, Auto Cannibal, MASS MOVEMENT

Tyrel Dulvarie is an Yirrganydji, Dugulbara, Kalkadoon, Umpila man from Kimuy, with Malaysian and Indonesian heritage from Johor Bahru & Java. He works across dance, theatre and film. 

Tyrel trained at the Aboriginal Centre for the Performing Arts (ACPA) in Meanjin from 2011-2013. And then furthered his dance training in Sydney Dance Company’s Pre-Professional Program in 2015.

From 2016-2021, Tyrel performed nationally & abroad as a company dancer with Bangarra Dance Theatre. In March 2021, Tyrel returned back to Magandjin & joined the Australasian Dance Collective until July 2022. 

As an independent artist Tyrel has performed in the world premieres of; VISTA, The Chronicles & MASS MOVEMENT by Stephanie Lake Company, Tracker by Daniel Riley & Rachel Maza AM, Arkadia, Mountain & Pulau by Melanie Lane, Nhamgan Ngali Nyin by Yolande Brown, and The Shepherds by Carly Sheppard & Alisdair Macindoe. 

In 2019, he received the Australian Dance Award for Outstanding Performance by a Male Dancer for his standout performance in Bangarra Dance Theatre’s 30 Years of Sixty Five Thousand. And in 2026, he recieved the Green Room award for Outstanding Performer for his epic performance in Melanie Lane's Pulau. 

Tyrel has a strong love and value for culture, first nation voices & stories, physical movement, and connecting with others in the creative space.
