Samantha Hines

Stephanie Lake Company Works: Manifesto, Monsters, Pile of Bones

Samantha Hines was born in Sydney, Australia and began her full-time dance training at Ev and Bow, before attending New Zealand School of Dance. In her final year, she was hired by Australian Dance Theater under the directorship of Garry Stewart. She performed and toured extensively with the company both nationally and internationally with works such as G, Proximity, and Be Yourself. In 2016, she went on to work with Lucy Guerin and Gideon Obarzanek, premiering their work Attractor.

In the same year, Samantha joined Stephanie Lake Company for Pile of Bones. She later danced Monsters and most recently Manifesto, and has played a part in early developments of The Chronicles and VISTA.

Between 2017-2021, she joined Dancenorth full time, touring to America, Europe, Mexico and Asia. In the following years, she performed in the world premieres of; Grey Rhino by Cass Mortimer Eipper and Charmene Yap, Double Beat by Sara Black, How to Be Us and New Retro by Lucy Guerin Inc.

Samatha joined Akram Khan Company in the UK in 2024, and Opera Ballet Vlaanderen in Belgium in 2026.

Samantha was nominated for a Helpmann award and a Greenroom Award in 2017, and a New York Bessie award in 2019.
